Do you know about our 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans?
In January, the new 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans were introduced for professionals in the public health field to use as a guide to inform consumers of recommended dietary choices.
These guidelines are updated every five years based on research and studies regarding the health and dietary patterns of Americans.
The guidelines provide general recommendations that most people can utilize in the lives; like limiting saturated fat and added sodium and sugar, and increasing consumption of whole fruit, a variety of vegetables, whole grains, and lean meats.
The guidelines are recommendations for healthy people; not people with chronic diseases since they require different dietary needs.
